Legal Operations Counsel

Location: Remote within Europe or the US, with US Eastern Time availability required; Paris or New York preferred

What you will do

• Own the partnership legal queue, including intake, NDAs, drafting, negotiation, signature packs, and signing summaries.
• Build a contract repository linked to the CRM and maintain an obligations register covering milestones, grants, exclusivity, notices, and renewals.
• Develop negotiation playbooks, clause libraries, templates, legal FAQs, AI workflows, and document-review agents.
• Manage vendor and SaaS terms, renewals, insurance calendars, due diligence, security questionnaires, and data room hygiene.
• Track outside counsel budgets and produce monthly legal throughput reports.
• Work with Partnerships, Finance, RevOps, BizOps, and outside counsel on commercial and operational legal matters.

Requirements

• Qualified lawyer or equivalent law degree with 5–8 years of commercial contracting experience, including in-house work at a fast-growing technology company.
• Experience independently negotiating partnership, integration, or licensing agreements on both company and counterparty paper.
• Strong US-style commercial drafting skills.
• Hands-on experience building legal operations, including contract lifecycle tooling, playbooks, intake processes, and reporting.
• Ability to automate document workflows with AI while identifying when lawyer review remains necessary.
• Ability to work across European and US Eastern time zones, manage shifting priorities, and communicate clearly with non-lawyers.

Nice to have

• Experience with corporate housekeeping, employment, intellectual property, or privacy matters.
• Experience working with Finance on payment mechanics, milestones, and budgets.
