Agentic AI Software Engineer

Location: Newcastle, UK; in-office at least 4 days per week

What you will do

• Orchestrate AI development agents for coding, documentation, and refactoring through secure and maintainable pipelines.
• Supervise agent outputs, enforce code quality, manage version control, and maintain prompt libraries and evaluation datasets.
• Design modular, scalable, secure, and cost-aware architectures and document technical decisions with lightweight ADRs.
• Build frontend features, backend APIs, authentication, and infrastructure.
• Define testing standards and implement unit, integration, and E2E tests with automated continuous testing.
• Align engineering work with applicable KPIs and business outcomes.

Requirements

• Experience using and managing AI coding agents, including understanding their strengths, limitations, and error patterns.
• Proficiency in prompt design, agentic programming, oversight, and assessment of AI-generated code.
• Knowledge of ethical AI principles, including privacy, explainability, transparency, and bias mitigation.
• System architecture and modern full-stack development experience across frontend frameworks, backend services, and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience designing and implementing E2E tests.
