Counter Fraud Motor Claims Handler

Location: Liverpool, UK with hybrid working. Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:30, 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £26,350–£34,800 per year, plus up to £2,000 annual performance-related bonus once established in the role.

What you will do

• Manage investigations and a portfolio of suspected motor insurance fraud claims from referral through final resolution.
• Assess intelligence, claims, and referrals, then determine appropriate investigation strategies and case outcomes.
• Work with investigative service providers and provide clear instructions to support claim investigations.
• Maintain accurate reserves, communications, service levels, claims records, and file management.
• Prevent claims leakage while maximising savings and repudiations in line with counter-fraud strategies.
• Identify process improvements and contribute to the continuous development of the team and department.

Requirements

• Good understanding of claims handling, including indemnity, liability, credit hire, property damage, first-party, and bodily injury claims.
• Technically sound judgement, effective portfolio management, and strong file discipline.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal support.
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
• Understanding of intelligence and investigative tools used to validate claims.
• Applicants must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa; visa sponsorship is not available.
