Counter Fraud Claims Handler (Insurance)

Location: Liverpool, UK, with hybrid working. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 9:00–17:30, 37.5 hours per week.

Salary: £26,350–£34,800 per year, plus up to £2,000 performance-related bonus once established in the role.

What you will do

• Investigate and manage a portfolio of suspect motor insurance claims from referral through final resolution.
• Assess claims, referrals, intelligence, and investigative information to determine appropriate case actions.
• Coordinate with investigative service providers and provide clear instructions to support claim investigations.
• Manage claim files, reserves, communications, service levels, and adherence to investigation procedures.
• Minimise claims leakage while maximising savings and repudiations.
• Contribute to counter-fraud strategies, quality improvements, and team development.

Requirements

• Good understanding of claims handling, including indemnity, liability, credit hire, property damage, first-party, and bodily injury claims.
• Sound technical judgement, portfolio management skills, and strong file discipline.
• Excellent organisation and the ability to work independently with minimal support.
• Strong negotiation and customer service skills.
• Understanding of intelligence and investigative tools used to validate claims.
• Applicants must have at least one year remaining on a Graduate or Post-Study Work visa; visa sponsorship is not available.
