Fabric Sourcing Specialist (Apparel)

Location: China-based role in Guangzhou or Dongguan, Guangdong, with regular commuting to fabric markets, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities. Work from home is combined with on-ground sourcing and quality-control visits. Working hours are 1:00 PM–10:00 PM China Standard Time, Monday to Friday.

Monthly salary: $1,000 base starting rate, depending on experience, plus a $40 night shift allowance.

What you will do

• Own fabric, trims, and material sourcing across the Guangzhou and Dongguan markets, with Humen preferred.
• Identify, vet, and manage fabric and material suppliers across China.
• Collect fabric swatches, validate supplier capabilities, support product development, and maintain supplier relationships.
• Coordinate with fabric suppliers and garment manufacturers to clarify requirements and resolve operational issues.
• Perform on-site quality checks for samples and bulk production, including in-process and pre-shipment inspections.
• Track purchase orders, pricing, production timelines, inspection records, delays, and supply risks.

Requirements

• At least 1.5 years of sourcing or buying experience in vendor management, supplier coordination, negotiations, quoting, procurement, or a related field.
• At least 1.5 years of fabric and trims sourcing experience, with familiarity with the Guangzhou Zhongda or Dongguan fabric markets.
• Strong understanding of fabrics, trims, garment manufacturing, and supplier capabilities.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, critical thinking, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
• Must be based in China and able to regularly visit fabric markets, suppliers, and manufacturing facilities.
