Staff Data Scientist, Algorithm, Growth (Fintech)

Location: San Francisco, United States

Salary: $250,000–$299,000 annually, plus potential equity and bonus.

What you will do

• Provide technical mentorship and hands-on leadership for complex data science problems.
• Set the long-term technical vision and help raise the capabilities of the data science team.
• Partner with Growth, Marketing, Product, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams on go-to-market strategy and investment decisions.
• Design and deploy predictive models, personalization and recommendation systems, LLM-powered applications, incentive optimization frameworks, and causal inference models.
• Measure the causal impact of marketing initiatives using machine learning and statistical models.

Requirements

• 7+ years of industry experience and an advanced degree, such as a PhD or MS, in a quantitative field.
• Expertise in machine learning and statistical modeling for data-driven growth strategy.
• Hands-on experience building, deploying, and maintaining machine learning models in production-grade cloud services and real-time or batch pipelines.
• Experience mentoring technical teams in machine learning and experimentation.
• Strong communication skills for presenting analysis to leadership and cross-functional teams.
• Expertise in SQL and Python; schema design and dimensional data modeling are advantageous.
