Sr. Fabric Manager (Apparel)

Location: Los Angeles HQ, onsite

Salary: $135,000–$150,000 per year

What you will do

• Lead in-season fabric development from initial brief through approval and production handoff.
• Partner with Design to establish seasonal fabric direction, research textile trends, and source new fabric concepts.
• Manage mill relationships, development briefs, technical specifications, target costs, timelines, and supplier performance.
• Evaluate fabrics for construction, hand feel, weight, finish, quality, scalability, lead time, and production suitability.
• Collaborate with Sourcing, Color, Product Compliance, and Technical Design to resolve technical issues and confirm bulk-production readiness.
• Maintain fabric specifications, development records, approval documentation, and clear cross-functional reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Textile Science, Textile Development, Fashion, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of experience in apparel fabric development or sourcing, including seasonal and in-season development ownership.
• Strong technical knowledge of fibers, yarns, fabric construction, dyeing, printing, and finishing.
• Experience managing mills, developing fashion-driven and technically complex fabrics, and working within short lead times.
• Understanding of fabric costing, testing, quality standards, and production requirements.
• Proficiency in PLM systems, Microsoft Excel, and development tracking tools, with strong communication, negotiation, organization, and problem-solving skills.
