Senior Engineer (AWS)

Location: New York City, United States; On-site

Salary: $160K–$220K per year, plus 0.25%–0.3% equity

What you will do

• Design and enforce least-privilege IAM, permission boundaries, SCP strategies, and multi-account AWS environments.
• Reduce attack surfaces, improve secrets management and KMS key segmentation, and design blast-radius containment strategies.
• Strengthen logging, monitoring, anomaly detection, and immutable audit trails.
• Build and test incident response playbooks and review infrastructure designs for security risks.
• Optimize AWS architecture for reliability, scalability, and cost efficiency, including Lambda, SQS, and RDS.
• Make architectural decisions that improve the security and resilience of systems handling sensitive institutional data.

Requirements

• 5+ years operating AWS infrastructure in production.
• Deep expertise in IAM, including roles, policies, trust relationships, and STS.
• Strong knowledge of AWS networking, including VPC, PrivateLink, and Security Groups.
• Experience designing multi-account AWS environments and responding to real security incidents.
• Strong understanding of cloud attack vectors, privilege escalation, and secure cost reduction.
• Hands-on experience with CDK or Terraform and reviewing infrastructure code.

• Experience in legal, fintech, government, or other high-sensitivity environments.
