Software Engineer, Agent Systems (AI)

Salary: $200,000–$325,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Build end-to-end agent-based product functionality and foundational systems for the agent platform.
• Develop the orchestration engine, runtime, and core primitives that enable agents to reason, act, and interact with users and systems.
• Design and evolve agentic loops to make agents steerable, trustworthy, adaptive, and production-ready.
• Improve retrieval and grounding systems so agents use accurate organizational context for answers and actions.
• Build evaluation frameworks and feedback loops to measure, debug, and continuously improve agent quality.
• Partner with product teams to bring new agent capabilities into customer-facing workflows and establish technical standards for reliable agent systems.

Requirements

• Strong software engineering fundamentals and experience building production-grade systems.
• Experience building AI-powered systems, agent frameworks, or LLM-based applications in production.
• 4+ years of hands-on experience building software products and systems in production environments.
• Experience designing reliable, scalable, and maintainable systems from first principles.
• Strong communication skills, cross-functional collaboration ability, and comfort in a high-autonomy startup environment.
• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with retrieval systems, grounding strategies, evaluation infrastructure, or other modern agent architecture components.
• Familiarity with Go and TypeScript.
• Early-stage startup experience or a track record of zero-to-one product development.
