Location: On-site in Herndon, Virginia; the job listing also identifies Melbourne, Florida as a multiple location. The role requires eligibility to obtain an FAA Public Trust security clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.

Salary: $52,500–$97,500 per year in the Herndon, Virginia area.

What you will do

• Lead daily receiving, shipping, storage, and distribution activities at the Herndon site.
• Validate incoming materials, process MRP receipts, and maintain accurate inventory records across MRP and Cognos systems.
• Coordinate outbound shipments, carrier scheduling, air waybill creation, SHIP/PITS processing, and compliant packaging.
• Manage spare-parts inventory, material issues, transfers, scheduled releases, and equipment movement for field technicians.
• Resolve material discrepancies, reject nonconforming items, coordinate supplier RMAs, and support audits and status reporting.
• Act as the on-site contact for customers, program managers, Field Services, Engineering, Procurement, and other cross-functional teams.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent with at least 8 years of relevant experience, or an Associate degree with at least 4 years of related experience.
• Must be eligible to obtain an FAA Public Trust security clearance.
• Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Experience with inventory, logistics, receiving, shipping, material transfers, and database accuracy.
• Ability to follow ASTM Best Practices, MIL-STD 2073, hazardous-material handling, safety, and EHS procedures.
• Ability to work independently and coordinate with customers, program managers, field services, engineering, and procurement.

Nice to have

• Experience generating Cognos or similar material-management reports.
• Experience with PeopleSoft or similar platforms for shipments, receipts, RMAs, and material releases.
• Experience leading quarterly spare-parts audits and process-improvement initiatives.
