Developer Relations Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Serve as Liquid’s technical voice across Hugging Face, GitHub, Discord, X, and developer events.
• Answer public developer questions and turn recurring issues into cookbooks, reference applications, tutorials, and reusable technical resources.
• Build and ship on-device reference applications for iOS, Android, browsers, Jetson, and NPUs.
• Maintain integration recipes for llama.cpp, MLX, ONNX, ExecuTorch, and the LEAP SDK.
• Write technical content and honest benchmarks covering efficient models such as Qwen, Gemma, Phi, and SmolLM.
• Organize hackathons, workshops, build nights, conference activities, and developer demos while feeding community friction into model and platform roadmaps.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience with LLMs, including LoRA, QLoRA, full fine-tuning, distillation, tokenizer debugging, and production or active community deployments.
• Deep familiarity with PyTorch, Hugging Face Transformers, PEFT, Datasets, and model-serving frameworks such as llama.cpp, MLX, vLLM, ONNX Runtime, or TGI.
• Understanding of quantization trade-offs involving GGUF, AWQ, GPTQ, INT8, and INT4.
• Experience with on-device or embedded deployment and efficient-model ecosystems.
• Professional experience in developer relations, developer advocacy, or community engineering with direct public developer engagement.
• A strong portfolio of accurate technical writing, tutorials, cookbooks, talks, videos, workshops, or open-source educational content.

Nice to have

• Open-source contributions to inference or efficient-model tooling, including llama.cpp, MLX, ONNX, or Hugging Face libraries.
• Experience organizing or running hackathons, workshops, or developer events.
