Senior Software Engineer (Automotive)

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States; hybrid work with 3 days in the local office and 2 days remote

What you will do

• Create virtual-in-the-loop environments for developing, verifying, and validating embedded controllers and calibrations.
• Integrate virtual ECUs, plant models, sensors, actuators, and system physics models into dynamic system-level simulations.
• Model hybrid vehicle systems and mechatronic subsystems, then debug and deploy them as simulation components.
• Create, maintain, and test virtual controller components, including HWIO, RTOS, and communication models.
• Develop serial data connectivity between the co-simulation platform, virtual controllers, models, and tools.
• Document releases, support deployed simulations, and assist with user testing and troubleshooting.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in automotive systems, mechatronics, mechanical, electrical, software, computer engineering, or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience as an Application Engineer or in a related occupation.
• At least 2 years of experience integrating Software-in-the-Loop co-simulations with virtual ECUs and vehicle propulsion system models.
• Experience with Embedded C, Python, MATLAB, Simulink, Simscape, GT-Power, and AMESIM.
• Experience with embedded controls software, automated builds, gcc, gdb, Eclipse, Jenkins, and ETAS INCA.
• Experience with automotive communication technologies including CAN, LIN, and SPI.
