Embedded Software Architect (Automotive)

Location: Milford, Michigan, United States; hybrid work with 3 days in-office and 2 days remote. Must be able to report to the local office.

What you will do

• Analyze customer inputs and system requirements to create software architecture models for electrification components.
• Lead the design and development of electrification services based on software-defined vehicle solutions.
• Develop software requirements, functional specifications, data structures, and low-level requirements for new vehicle architectures.
• Develop, deploy, maintain, unit test, debug, and modify complex embedded systems software.
• Coordinate software design and code reviews while maintaining alignment with architecture, engineering standards, and SAFe practices.
• Advance test-first development using Behavior-Driven Development and Test-Driven Development, while reducing technical debt and resolving defects.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronic Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• Seven years of relevant experience in software engineering, systems engineering, network protocol engineering, electrical system design, or a related role.
• Seven years of experience with automotive embedded software development, C/C++, Python or another scripting language, embedded architecture, and automotive network protocols including CAN, LIN, Automotive Ethernet, and SOME/IP.
• Seven years of experience with vehicle development processes, CI/CD principles, automated testing frameworks, and Agile frameworks.
• Five years of experience developing microcontroller software with Classic AUTOSAR and Adaptive AUTOSAR, ASIL A-D safety compliance, software automation and code-generation tooling, and fault injection.
• Five years of experience with embedded software tools including JIRA and GitHub, plus knowledge of ISO 26262 and Automotive SPICE.
