Sr Electrical Engineer (AUV)

What you will do

• Design and implement electronic systems for current and future autonomous underwater vehicle products.
• Own schematic capture and complex PCB layout, including signal integrity, power distribution, thermal management, and manufacturability.
• Select electronic components and develop wiring diagrams and harness designs for internal and external fabrication.
• Design and execute testing plans for electrical systems, firmware, and PCBs, then identify and resolve issues.
• Create technical documentation, specifications, interface control documents, test procedures, and manuals.
• Lead architecture decisions, engineering-to-manufacturing handoffs, cross-functional collaboration, and mentorship of junior and mid-level engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering.
• 7+ years of electrical or computer engineering experience focused on electrical system design and PCBs.
• Strong proficiency with Altium Designer and PCB fabrication and assembly processes.
• Strong understanding of analog and digital circuit design, AC/DC power electronics, and simulation tools such as SPICE.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, teamwork, communication, and project-management skills.
• Ability to mentor engineers, lead technical discussions, and drive design decisions independently in a dynamic startup environment.

Nice to have

• Marine industry or robotics industry experience.
• Startup or fast-paced product development experience.
• Embedded firmware development in C/C++ with Microchip dsPIC or STM32 platforms.
• Experience with UART, SPI, I2C, CANbus, Ethernet, lithium-ion battery packs, and 12V–800VDC systems.
