Senior Software Engineer (C/C++)

Location: Santa Clara, California, United States; onsite

Annual base salary: $175,000–$317,000 USD, with possible incentive pay and/or equity.

What you will do

• Shape architecture and design requirements for enterprise hardware platforms across bring-up, manufacturing release, deployment, upgrades, and operations.
• Design, implement, debug, and deliver user-space software in C and C++ for storage protocols, networking, and data-center architectures.
• Develop remote server-management capabilities using standards such as Redfish.
• Design reliability, availability, and serviceability features, along with observability, automation, and operational-readiness improvements.
• Build engineering tools and software components in Python, Go, and Rust, and work hands-on with hardware validation, debugging, customer delivery, and production support.
• Partner with hardware, systems, operating-system, customer, and technology-partner teams while leading technical initiatives across engineering organizations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong proficiency in C and C++, including object-oriented design and modern C++ standards from C++11 onward.
• Strong Python skills for build and test automation, lab tooling, diagnostics, and system validation.
• Hands-on experience with hardware platforms, system-level debugging, bring-up, validation, customer delivery, and production support.
• Experience leading teams, technical initiatives, or cross-organizational projects, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Interest in storage and networking protocols, data-center hardware, distributed systems, and hardware–software integration.

Nice to have

• Experience with Go and/or Rust.
• Experience shipping or supporting enterprise-class, x86-based appliances.
• Experience with NVMe, Ethernet-based fabrics, or related data-center architectures.
• Experience designing for RAS, observability, non-disruptive upgrades, distributed systems, automated test infrastructure, hardware labs, or fleet-scale diagnostics.
