Senior Vehicle Attributes Engineer (Autonomous Vehicles)

Location: Foster City, California, United States; on-site

Base salary: $195,000–$260,000 per year, excluding RSUs, stock appreciation rights, and potential sign-on bonus.

Zoox is developing a fully autonomous vehicle fleet and the supporting mobility-as-a-service ecosystem for urban environments.

What you will do

• Lead cross-functional vehicle attribute teams covering dynamics, NVH, thermal systems, energy, safety, and ergonomics.
• Define vehicle performance targets and development plans for next-generation autonomous vehicle platforms.
• Balance performance, cost, mass, safety, and timing when making vehicle integration decisions.
• Identify performance gaps, conduct data-based root cause analyses, and drive resolution plans.
• Prepare attribute status updates and communicate risks and trade-offs during program reviews and leadership gates.
• Develop test assets and methodologies to validate vehicle-level requirements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering.
• At least 10 years of experience in vehicle attribute development or integration.
• Deep technical understanding of vehicle systems, validation, and cross-functional integration.
• Experience leading and guiding a vehicle development program and managing multiple priorities.
• Skills in data analysis, documentation, and reporting, with proficiency in Smartsheet, Jira, and Google Workspace.

• Experience in technical program management.
• Experience developing electric or autonomous vehicles.
