Web Developer, Technical SEO (GEO)

Location: Remote within the United States; hybrid scheduling is available for candidates in the Chicago, IL or El Dorado Hills, CA metro areas.

What you will do

• Conduct technical SEO audits covering crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, redirects, canonicalization, JavaScript rendering, and Core Web Vitals.
• Implement and validate SEO requirements across WordPress and production websites, including metadata, structured data, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, templates, and redirects.
• Identify and resolve broken links, duplicate content, orphaned pages, redirect chains, rendering defects, and other technical issues affecting organic search performance.
• Improve GEO performance for Google AI Overviews, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and other AI search experiences through content structure, entity clarity, topical authority, and internal linking.
• Support international SEO through hreflang, localization coverage, multilingual architecture, and translation quality audits.
• Use SEO platforms, analytics, scripts, APIs, and AI-assisted tools to automate audits, reporting, debugging, documentation, and recurring workflows.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional web development experience with hands-on technical SEO responsibilities.
• Strong proficiency in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, with experience maintaining and troubleshooting production websites.
• Hands-on experience with canonical tags, redirects, structured data, metadata, XML sitemaps, robots.txt, crawlability, rendering, and indexation.
• Experience with international SEO, hreflang, localization, multilingual websites, Core Web Vitals, and frontend optimization.
• Experience with Google Search Console, Screaming Frog, Sitebulb or similar tools, web analytics, modern frameworks, content management systems, and Git workflows.
• Ability to work remotely from the United States; hybrid work is available in the Chicago and El Dorado Hills metro areas.

Nice to have

• Experience with React, Next.js, server-side rendering, static site generation, JavaScript SEO, or schema.org structured data.
• Experience with Google Tag Manager, Google Analytics, CDN and caching technologies, A/B testing, or conversion rate optimization.
• Experience automating technical SEO audits with JavaScript, Python, or similar scripting languages.
• Experience in SaaS, cybersecurity, or another technology-focused environment.
