Senior Optimization Strategist (SEO)

Location: Remote - United States

Salary: $70,000-$90,000 per year, excluding fringe benefits; discretionary bonuses or commissions may also be available.

What you will do

• Own organic strategy for a portfolio of complex, larger, and VIP-adjacent client accounts.
• Lead pre-launch and quarterly SEO audits, define ranking goals, and set strategic direction for delivery teams.
• Design advanced SEO strategies and evaluate emerging AI-search capabilities for team adoption.
• Lead client calls, represent SEO strategy in senior conversations, and translate performance into business impact.
• Escalate and resolve complex performance issues while partnering with Account Managers on recovery and retention.
• Identify upsell and expansion opportunities and mentor SEO Strategists and Coordinators.

Requirements

• 6-8 years of progressive SEO experience.
• Experience owning high-complexity, enterprise, or VIP accounts.
• Experience handling complex performance issues, at-risk accounts, and upsell or expansion opportunities.
• Background developing SEO frameworks, playbooks, or best practices.
• Experience evaluating AI-search capabilities and mentoring junior practitioners.
• Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
