Staff Nurse - Internal Medicine and Pediatrics Full-time Days

What you will do

• Provide evidence-based nursing care for acutely ill internal medicine and pediatric patients.
• Assess patient needs, develop and update individualized care plans, and coordinate treatment, teaching, continuity of care, and discharge planning.
• Administer medications safely according to the six medication rights and the patient’s age and clinical condition.
• Perform phone triage, communicate abnormal test results, and provide corresponding care instructions.
• Educate patients and families about procedures, therapies, treatments, pain management, and self-care.
• Participate in shared governance, committee work, quality improvement, and departmental projects.

Requirements

• Current nursing experience within the past five years or graduation from a nursing program within the past two years.
• Current registered nurse license for the state of employment.
• Basic Life Support certification.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, patient education, and care-coordination skills.
• Ability to complete a background check in accordance with applicable Illinois and federal requirements.

Nice to have

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
• One year of experience in a pertinent clinical specialty.
• Proficiency in a second language.
