Senior Accountant (Health Insurance)

Location: New York, NY, United States; hybrid schedule with 3 days in the office per week, including Thursdays. Travel required up to 20%.

Base pay: $91,908–$120,629 per year, plus annual performance bonuses.

What you will do

• Execute monthly, quarterly, and year-end close activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Perform close analytics and support financial statement disclosures.
• Review work completed by Accounting Analysts and maintain internal control procedures.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure compliance with accounting requirements.
• Identify process improvements and partner with Financial Systems to implement automation and efficiency initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, or 4 years of relevant experience.
• 3+ years of related accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and excellent analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule with 3 in-office days per week in New York, including Thursdays.

Nice to have

• Experience in a similar position at a health insurance company.
• Experience using Workday as an ERP system.
• Experience using OpenAI Codex or similar AI tools.
• Certified Public Accountant licensure.
