Lead, Systems Engineering Architect (Defense Tech)

What you will do

• Interpret customer mission needs and identify solution spaces, requirements gaps, and enhancement options.
• Design and implement ground system enhancements through architecture solutions aligned with requirements and engineering best practices.
• Determine whether enhancement requests can be addressed through existing capabilities or require new designs.
• Collaborate with development, operations, security, management, and subject matter experts to design and deploy ground solutions and services.
• Generate system architecture views and decompose proposed solutions into addressable configuration items.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship while leading solutions for customer needs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with at least 4 years of relevant experience, a graduate degree with at least 2 years of related experience, or 8 years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Experience managing the full lifecycle of complex engineering projects from conception through delivery.
• Experience with systems engineering practices including requirements management, architecture design, integration, testing, and verification.
• Must be able to obtain a NOAA Public Trust.
• Security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens, where clearance access is required.

Nice to have

• Degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Experience in a leadership role and with relevant engineering tools and software.
• Experience in the weather and antenna/RF industry.
