Director, Strategic Affairs for Higher Education (EdTech)

What you will do

• Lead government affairs and go-to-market strategy for higher education initiatives across North American state, provincial, and federal opportunities.
• Develop statewide deal pipelines by connecting education and workforce funding sources with product opportunities.
• Monitor legislation and regulatory changes and translate policy developments into guidance for Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product.
• Build relationships with policymakers, agency leaders, and education associations, and represent hirify.global in public forums.
• Manage lobbying firms and policy consultants, including goals, performance measurement, and advocacy spend.
• Shape procurement strategies, advise senior customer leaders, and demonstrate how policy engagement drives revenue, market share, and customer impact.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or public-sector sales, with a record of achieving revenue or pipeline targets.
• Experience working with C-suite and senior leaders in public and private sectors.
• Strong understanding of education and workforce funding sources, including ESSA, Perkins V, and Workforce Pell.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex policy and market data clearly.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
