Director, Strategic Affairs for Business and Government

What you will do

• Lead government affairs and go-to-market strategy for the Business and Government vertical across state, provincial, and federal opportunities in North America.
• Build deal pipelines by connecting education and workforce funding streams with Canvas, Mastery, and hirify.global opportunities.
• Track education and technology legislation and regulation, translating policy and market data into recommendations for Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, and Product.
• Build relationships with policymakers, agency leaders, and education associations, and represent the organization in public forums.
• Manage lobbying firms and external advocacy partners, measure results, and connect spending to revenue and market outcomes.
• Shape procurement strategy, advise senior customer leaders, and contribute to international public policy efforts.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in government affairs, public policy, or public-sector sales with a record of achieving revenue or pipeline targets.
• Experience working with C-suite and senior leaders in both public and private sectors.
• Strong understanding of education and workforce funding, including ESSA, Perkins V, and Workforce Pell.
• Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to brief legislators and sales teams.
• Willingness to travel as needed.
• Must be based in the United States for this US-remote role.

• Experience managing lobbyists or external policy consultants.
