Cytotechnologist-Full-time Days

Location: Central DuPage Hospital, 25 N. Winfield Rd., Winfield, Illinois, United States. Full-time, 40 hours per week, day shift.

Salary: USD 43.46–56.50 per hour.

What you will do

• Perform microscopic examination of gynecologic and non-gynecologic slides for infectious, pre-malignant, and malignant disease processes.
• Screen cytology specimens using the 2001 Bethesda terminology.
• Document slide interpretations, screening totals, and screening hours accurately and on time.
• Prioritize changing workloads, maintain an organized workspace, and support patient safety and error reduction.
• Communicate with patients, customers, coworkers, and staff while contributing to teamwork, service recovery, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor and train new staff and participate in professional development, proficiency testing, and regulatory activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree.
• Graduation from an accredited CAAHEP cytology program in collaboration with CPRC/ASC.
• CT (ASCP) certification must be obtained within one year of hire.
• Must meet federal and accreditation requirements for high-complexity testing, including CLIA, TJC, and CAP standards.
• Basic keyboard and computer skills, including use of anatomic pathology software, Outlook, and Microsoft Word.
• Successful candidates must complete a criminal background check in accordance with applicable Illinois and federal laws.

Nice to have

• Liquid-based cytology training or ThinPrep certification.
