Location: Warsaw, Poland — hybrid

provides regulated, wallet-based payment infrastructure for platforms and fintechs managing complex multi-party fund flows. Its programmable wallets collect, split, hold, and move funds between buyers, sellers, service providers, and other participants.
What you will do
- Design robust systems and make architectural decisions for a distributed, highly available payment platform.
- Develop production software and conduct rigorous design and code reviews.
- Define and enforce architectural principles and engineering standards.
- Build and improve monitoring, alerting, and proactive failure detection.
- Collaborate with software engineers, principal engineers, architects, product managers, QA, and the Engineering Manager.
- Own major technical epics and guide projects from design documentation through production.
Requirements
- 7+ years of backend development experience with Java 11 through Java 21+.
- Experience building high-throughput, low-latency products, preferably in fintech, banking, or payments.
- Experience with Micronaut or cloud-native frameworks such as Spring Cloud in large-scale production systems.
- Experience with AWS or another modern cloud environment.
- Deep experience designing and troubleshooting scalable, event-driven systems using Kafka, RabbitMQ, or similar messaging frameworks.
- Experience creating unit and functional tests with JUnit 5 or Spock.
Nice to have
- Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or LLMs.
- Experience mentoring engineers and contributing to hiring.
