Specialist, Technical Writing (Aerospace)

Location: Greenville, Texas; on-site

Schedule: 9/80, with every other Friday off.

What you will do

• Create, plan, write, edit, and maintain operational, instructional, maintenance, and test procedures.
• Research technical information and translate it into manuals and web-based documentation for technical and non-technical users.
• Interview users and technical staff to gather documentation data and document engineering processes and specifications.
• Update digital flight manuals, maintenance manuals, illustrated parts catalogs, wiring diagram manuals, and related technical publications for the VIPSAM aircraft fleet.
• Develop and modify digital publications in an unstructured environment using FrameMaker.
• Coordinate publication data, schedules, budgets, and requirements with engineering, customers, program management, and technical-publication supervisors.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant technical-documentation experience, or a graduate degree and two years of experience.
• Alternatively, eight years of relevant experience may substitute for a degree.
• Experience gathering, composing, and editing flight manuals, maintenance manuals, and other technical documentation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret DoD clearance; security clearances may only be granted to U.S. citizens.
• Ability to work on-site in Greenville, Texas.

Nice to have

• Active Secret clearance.
• Aeronautical publications or engineering experience.
• Experience operating VIP government aircraft.
