Company

hirify.global develops medicines and vaccines by applying advanced science and technologies across research and development.

What you will do

  • Lead materials science activities across multidisciplinary projects from discovery through drug product launch.
  • Define solid forms of active pharmaceutical ingredients, including salts, polymorphs, hydrates, solvates, and co-crystals.
  • Characterize particle and solid-state properties using spectroscopy, X-ray diffraction, microscopy, thermal analysis, and related techniques.
  • Integrate physical and surface characterization data into formulation and drug product process development.
  • Apply computational approaches to design experiments and predict pharmaceutical material properties and performance.
  • Oversee external laboratory partners, mentor scientists, support regulatory submissions and patents, and develop new scientific approaches.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in Chemistry, Engineering, Materials Science, Pharmaceutics, or a related field with at least 5 years of relevant industry experience, or a relevant Master’s degree with at least 10 years of experience.
  • Experience with small-molecule crystallization and solid-state characterization, including X-ray powder diffraction, spectroscopy, microscopy, laser diffraction, calorimetry, thermogravimetric analysis, or NMR.
  • Experience preparing regulatory submissions and query responses related to solid forms and particle characterization.
  • Strong data analysis, statistical, communication, collaboration, and leadership skills.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the United States is required; U.S. work visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

  • Experience using computational tools such as HABIT, Materials Studio, Mercury, CosmoTherm, or SimCU to predict pharmaceutical material properties.
  • Experience curating data for predictive tools and characterizing fine powders and surface properties.
  • Knowledge of the physical and chemical properties required for drug substance and drug product intermediate manufacturing and formulation.

Culture & Benefits

  • Collaborative work with multidisciplinary project teams and academic partners.
  • Opportunities to coach colleagues and lead scientific approaches within the global Materials Science organization.
  • Relocation support may be available based on business needs and eligibility.
  • Benefits include 401(k) matching and retirement contributions, paid vacation and leave, and medical, prescription, dental, and vision coverage.
