Senior Scientist, Bioanalytical

Location: Frederick, MD, USA. This is an onsite laboratory role. Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship.

Salary: $100,600–$151,000 USD annually, plus eligibility for a discretionary annual bonus.

What you will do

• Lead bioanalysis and biomarker projects through assay design, development, validation, and execution.
• Serve as the technical lead for the Ligand Binding platform and perform assays according to SOPs.
• Design experiments, analyze and present data, prepare technical reports, and troubleshoot routine scientific issues.
• Establish and improve laboratory procedures, SOP documentation, techniques, equipment qualifications, and performance checks.
• Collaborate with technical teams, provide scientific expertise to clients and internal stakeholders, and monitor project-related expenses.
• Supervise laboratory staff and contribute to proposals, publications, abstracts, techniques, chapters, and scientific meetings.

Requirements

• PhD with 6 years of relevant laboratory experience, or a Master’s degree with 10 years of relevant laboratory experience.
• Strong experience with bioanalytical technology platforms including Mesoscale Discovery, Quanterix, Luminex, and ELISA.
• Experience troubleshooting and refining ADA, PK, potency, cytokine, and PD biomarker assays.
• Experience handling whole blood, plasma or serum, cell pellets or supernatant, urine, and CSF samples.
• Strong data analysis, computational, communication, organizational, and technical reporting skills; experience with SoftMax, MSD BenchWork, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and GraphPad Prism is preferred.
• Fluent English and authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship are required. Occasional extended hours and laboratory physical activities may be necessary.

Nice to have

• Understanding of current bioanalytical method validation standards.
• Experience supervising or mentoring scientists or technical personnel.
• Experience with GLP, GCLP, or CLIA regulatory compliance.
