Senior System & Subsystem HIL Simulation Integration Engineer

Location: Hybrid in Warren, Michigan, with onsite attendance at the GM Global Technical Center at least three times per week; lab work may require five days onsite. Occasional travel to Milford is required.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and test novel Hardware-in-the-Loop benches, simulation solutions, and instrumentation for new vehicle features.
• Develop real-time HIL simulation models and test configurations using Matlab and Simulink.
• Integrate chassis, active safety, electrification, propulsion, and body-control systems with HIL benches.
• Adapt vehicle dynamics and plant models, including CarSim, VeDyna, and ASM-VD, for bench use.
• Develop ECU sensor and actuator instrumentation, test automation, and scripting solutions.
• Train lab users, define bench and test-property requirements, and perform electrical design integration and verification.

Requirements

• Experience integrating HIL simulation frameworks with bench wiring, loads, instrumentation, ECU hardware, software, and calibrations.
• Experience with Matlab/Simulink and real-time simulation model development.
• Knowledge of vehicle systems such as electrification, active safety, chassis, propulsion, and body controls.
• Experience with vehicle dynamics or plant models and HIL test automation.
• Ability to work onsite in Warren, Michigan at least three days per week and travel occasionally to Milford.
