TL;DR
Backend Engineer (Agentic AI) (Python/Java): Building MCP servers, LLM agents, multi-agent orchestration, and backend services for an AI-powered training and communication SaaS platform with an accent on tool design, authentication, multi-tenant security, and production observability. Focus on evaluating agent behaviour, scaling reliable microservices, and delivering tested AI-driven features across Python and Java.
Location: Fully remote, with candidates required to be based in Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, or Mexico. Working hours follow East Coast office hours.

What you will do
- Design, develop, test, deploy, and support backend services and AI-driven products.
- Build, run, and consume MCP servers, including tool design, authentication, OAuth, multi-tenant security, and deployment.
- Build LLM agents using tool and function calling and multi-agent orchestration such as A2A.
- Test and evaluate agent behaviour and implement production observability.
- Develop backend services in Python for AI and agent work and Java for integration with the core platform.
- Contribute to architecture discussions, code reviews, technical debt reduction, task planning, and collaboration with Product Management and Quality Assurance.
Requirements
- Must be based in Brazil, Colombia, the Dominican Republic, or Mexico.
- Strong written and spoken English required.
- At least 4 years of backend-heavy software development experience with Java and Python, including extensive use of Agentic AI.
- Experience with data structures, relational databases, SQL, microservices, unit testing, and functional testing.
- Production experience building AI-driven applications, agentic products, LLM integrations, MCP servers, tool/function calling, multi-agent orchestration, and agent evaluation.
- Ability to work independently on well-defined problems; computer science, engineering, or equivalent technical experience.
Nice to have
- Experience with GCP, containers, caching, and distributed systems.
- Experience with React, TypeScript, JavaScript design patterns, and single-page applications.

Hiring process
