What you will do

• Develop and execute the global intellectual property strategy in alignment with corporate, product, and technology objectives.
• Lead patent, trademark, copyright, trade secret, licensing, freedom-to-operate, and IP risk management matters worldwide.
• Direct invention disclosure, patent drafting, U.S. prosecution, foreign prosecution oversight, portfolio maintenance, and budget management.
• Advise executive leadership, engineering, product development, and business teams on IP opportunities, risks, transactions, and competitive positioning.
• Lead responses to IP disputes, infringement allegations, licensing demands, and related litigation support.
• Manage, mentor, and develop IP attorneys, patent agents, and IP paralegals while coordinating outside counsel and patent service providers.

Requirements

• J.D. from an accredited law school, active membership in at least one U.S. state bar, and registration to practice before the USPTO.
• 12+ years of progressive intellectual property experience, including substantial patent preparation and prosecution experience.
• Experience managing a substantial global patent portfolio and supervising foreign prosecution through outside counsel.
• Significant experience with semiconductor, power electronics, analog, mixed-signal, power conversion, or related technologies.
• Demonstrated leadership of patent attorneys, patent agents, and other IP professionals.
• Strong expertise in U.S. and international patent law, strategic portfolio management, executive advising, and business-oriented risk assessment.

Nice to have

• Undergraduate or advanced degree in electrical engineering, physics, semiconductor engineering, computer engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• In-house experience at a public company.
