Staff Software Engineer, DevOps - Fintech Platform (m/f/n) (Fintech)

Location: Hybrid, with preferably 1 day per week in the Warsaw or Cracow office, Poland

InPost Pay is building an international fintech platform from the ground up for large-scale payments, merchant, and consumer services.

What you will do

• Define infrastructure architecture covering cloud topology, networking, environments, deployment pipelines, and infrastructure-as-code patterns.
• Write ADRs, RFCs, and design documentation to guide infrastructure and platform decisions across teams.
• Evaluate cloud services, container orchestration, message brokers, observability platforms, and cost-optimization approaches.
• Own the infrastructure layer of the agentic engineering harness, including CI/CD integration, sandboxing, tool-execution environments, and guardrails.
• Establish deployment and operations golden paths, drive adoption across teams, and improve reliability through data.
• Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership across engineering, security, and compliance.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software or platform engineering experience, including 2+ years of cross-team technical leadership or architecture authority.
• 3+ years building infrastructure for distributed payments or fintech systems.
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes or similar container orchestration, CI/CD, Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-code tools, and cloud platforms such as AWS, GCP, or Azure.
• Experience with observability, SRE practices, incident response, SLOs, security architecture, secrets management, and controls relevant to PCI DSS and PSD2.
• Experience designing or evolving infrastructure for an agentic engineering harness, including sandboxing, tool-execution environments, and guardrails.
• English proficiency at B2 or above and a university degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.

Nice to have

• Platform or internal developer tooling experience, agentic or LLM system design experience, and Kafka or equivalent streaming architecture experience.
• Service-mesh architecture, FinOps, cloud cost optimization, chaos engineering, or resilience-testing experience.
• Open-source contributions, technical publishing, or Polish language skills.
