Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer (AWS/Kubernetes)

What you will do

• Own and evolve multi-cluster Amazon EKS infrastructure, including upgrades, node group strategies, autoscaling, and capacity planning.
• Maintain and scale Terraform and Terragrunt codebases while establishing reusable infrastructure patterns.
• Troubleshoot Kubernetes internals and improve networking, performance, security, RBAC, network policies, and secrets management.
• Drive cloud cost optimization and incorporate infrastructure spend into architectural decisions.
• Partner with development teams to improve GitLab CI/CD workflows, platform tooling, deployment reliability, and developer experience.
• Improve observability and evaluate new tools when they solve concrete infrastructure problems.

Requirements

• 3+ years of commercial experience administering Kubernetes clusters at scale, with hands-on EKS and multi-cluster experience.
• 3+ years of commercial experience managing AWS environments, including networking, EC2, EBS, EFS, S3, IAM, ALB, and EKS control planes.
• Strong expertise in Terraform and Terragrunt for infrastructure provisioning and configuration management at scale.
• Experience with GitLab CI/CD, GitOps, Kubernetes networking, cluster lifecycle management, autoscaling, and capacity planning.
• Strong knowledge of Kubernetes security, including RBAC, network policies, secrets management, and pod security standards.
• Experience delivering secure, scalable, highly available production infrastructure and collaborating with engineering teams.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of New Relic, ELK, Prometheus, Grafana, or OpenTelemetry.
• AWS cost optimization and FinOps experience, including Spot Instances, rightsizing, and Reserved or Savings Plans.
• Go or Python skills for automation, tooling, and Kubernetes extensions.
• Experience with AI agentic coding harnesses such as Claude Code or Codex for DevOps and SRE workflows.
• Experience with container security scanning tools such as Trivy or Falco.
