Applied AI Engineer, DNB

Location: London, UK. Hybrid policy: staff are expected to work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time, with some roles requiring more office attendance. Travel to customer sites is required for workshops and implementation support.

Annual salary: £225,000–£255,000 GBP. For sales roles, the stated range represents OTE; this role is presented with an annual compensation range.

What you will do

• Advise high-growth, technology-focused companies on building innovative use cases with the Claude Developer Platform.
• Partner hands-on with customer engineering teams through pair programming, architecture reviews, and code contributions.
• Build prototypes, evaluation suites, architecture diagrams, technical documentation, tutorials, and sample code.
• Collaborate with Applied AI Architects and share engagement insights with Product, Engineering, and the Applied AI team.
• Support developer communities through hackathons, webinars, technical office hours, and technical events.
• Travel to customer sites for workshops, implementation support, and relationship building.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience as a Software Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder.
• Experience in customer-facing or pre-sales technical roles, including scoping, designing, and delivering solutions with customers.
• Production experience building LLM-powered applications, including prompting, context engineering, agent architectures, evaluation frameworks, and deployment at scale.
• Strong programming skills with proficiency in Python and experience building production applications.
• Ability to work across industries and use cases, with strong technical communication and workshop facilitation skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education, training, or relevant professional experience.
