Head of External Communications

Location: Hybrid from the Minneapolis, Minnesota headquarters or fully remote within the United States

Annual salary: $94,800–$141,700

What you will do

• Own the day-to-day public relations program, including media strategy, proactive pitching, reactive responses, and executive visibility.
• Manage relationships with Gartner, Forrester, IDC, reporters, and trade press.
• Coordinate briefings, interviews, press releases, analyst submissions, talking points, and external messaging.
• Partner with Marketing, Investor Relations, Internal Communications, Product, Legal, and executives to maintain a consistent company narrative.
• Manage PR agencies and vendors, including budgets, deliverables, and quality control.
• Lead and develop the Senior Social Media Manager and Influencer Marketing Manager while tracking PR and analyst relations performance.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in public relations, analyst relations, or corporate communications, preferably in B2B technology, SaaS, or supply chain.
• Experience managing relationships with Gartner, Forrester, and IDC, including briefings, inquiries, and report submissions.
• Established media relationships and a track record of securing earned media coverage.
• Strong writing, editing, storytelling, project management, and organizational skills.
• Experience managing PR and analyst relations agencies, budgets, sensitive communications, and time-critical issues.
• Experience coaching, developing, and managing direct reports and influencing senior executives.
