Director of Group Strategy (Retail): Shaping Holland & Barrett's 3–5 year enterprise strategy and value-creation agenda with an accent on investment choices, portfolio priorities, growth opportunities, and commercial and financial value creation. Focus on connecting customer, financial, operational, data, and AI perspectives, challenging major business cases, and turning complex strategic questions into clear recommendations for executive and Board-level decisions.
Location: Hybrid in London or Nuneaton, United Kingdom, with a minimum of 3 days per week in an H&B office; travel required as needed.

What you will do
- Own the 3–5 year Group strategy and value-creation agenda, defining priorities, choices, and trade-offs.
- Connect customer, commercial, financial, and operational perspectives across the business.
- Evaluate investment choices, business cases, strategic initiatives, and growth opportunities.
- Shape future growth across personalised wellness, partnerships, international opportunities, new business models, data, and AI.
- Lead major strategic questions and translate ambiguity into recommendations and investment implications.
- Work with Finance and senior leaders to connect strategy with resource allocation and measurable value creation.
Requirements
- Significant senior strategy experience from consulting, an in-house strategy team, or a related discipline.
- Experience influencing enterprise-level decisions in a complex, multi-channel, customer-led business.
- Strong commercial and financial understanding, including value creation, investment cases, scenario modelling, growth, cost, cash, and return.
- Experience influencing CEOs, executive teams, or Boards through competing views, difficult trade-offs, and incomplete information.
- Ability to challenge assumptions, take an outside-in perspective, and make sound judgements.
- Experience in growth strategy, M&A, partnerships, market entry, transformation, or portfolio strategy is valuable.
