Security Software Engineer, Detection & Response

Location: Hybrid role based in London, New York City, or San Francisco, with three days per week in the office

Salary: $208,000–$312,000 annual base pay for San Francisco; actual compensation varies by skills, experience, and location. Equity and benefits are included in the total compensation package.

What you will do

• Deploy and operate osquery and eBPF telemetry sensors across servers, containers, and endpoints at fleet scale.
• Own sensor performance, staged rollouts, canaries, and rollbacks.
• Build and maintain the logging and SIEM pipeline, including ingestion, normalization, enrichment, storage, cost management, and detections as code.
• Automate host isolation, credential revocation, evidence collection, and incident enrichment.
• Strengthen EDR, fleet management, email security, and GitHub controls across Mac, Windows, and Linux.
• Participate in on-call rotations, support managed SOC escalations, and automate evidence collection for SOC 2, PCI DSS, and ISO audits.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in security, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
• Production programming experience in a compiled language, preferably Go or Rust, and a scripting language such as Python or Bash.
• Experience deploying and operating agents, sensors, or telemetry collectors at fleet scale, such as osquery or eBPF-based tooling.
• Experience operating AWS infrastructure, including networking, IAM, logging, and container workloads.
• Experience with Terraform, data or logging pipelines, SIEM operations, and SQL investigations.

Nice to have

• Experience with managed SOC providers or SOAR platforms.
• Contributions to open-source security or observability tooling.
• Knowledge of serverless platforms and API security.
