Senior Software Engineer, Scanning Engine (Cybersecurity)

Location: Remote within the United States

Salary: $150,000–$215,000 per year

What you will do

• Own end-to-end systems design for key scanning-engine components, from architecture and implementation through deployment and iteration.
• Build and operate Python and Go services for internet-wide and customer-specific scanning workflows.
• Improve performance, scalability, reliability, and observability for large-scale distributed scanning workloads.
• Ingest and normalize third-party threat intelligence and surface findings in underwriting, risk, and security workflows.
• Partner with security, product, data, and infrastructure teams on APIs, architecture, roadmap decisions, and production troubleshooting.
• Mentor engineers through design feedback, pairing, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• Senior-level experience developing backend or systems services.
• Proficiency in Python or Go, with the ability and willingness to work in both languages.
• Experience designing distributed or highly available services, including scalability, reliability, and observability.
• Hands-on experience with scanning, detection, vulnerability-scanning, data-processing, or similar high-throughput systems.
• Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, concurrency, performance optimization, testing, static analysis, and code reviews.
• Experience with cloud-native environments, including microservices, containers, CI/CD, monitoring, and logging.

Nice to have

• Cybersecurity domain knowledge, especially endpoint scanning.
