New Business Liaison-Electric

Location: Salinas, California; onsite work throughout the hirify.global service territory, with travel or transfer to another headquarters potentially required

Salary: $68.56 per hour; wage rates are subject to collective bargaining and may vary by locality.

PG&E operates electric transmission and distribution services, including planning, construction, maintenance, asset management, restoration, and emergency response.

What you will do

• Inspect applicant-installed joint trench facilities, underground cables, transformers, switches, splicing, and distribution line extensions.
• Verify that construction follows job drawings, specifications, PG&E standards, and applicable safety requirements.
• Oversee work sites, participate in contractor safety and pre-construction meetings, and ensure equipment and personnel remain within the right of way.
• Set single-phase 120/240 meters and maintain quality assurance, quality control, and as-built documentation.
• Coordinate schedules, scope changes, and compliance requirements with management, contractors, customers, and PG&E workgroups.
• Provide standby oversight for splicing and equipment installation after qualification.

Requirements

• Electrician journeyman experience for internal applicants, or completion records from an electrician or IBEW/Joint-sanctioned apprentice program for external applicants.
• Knowledge of electric transmission and distribution systems, methods, techniques, best practices, and regulatory requirements.
• Knowledge of gas transmission and distribution systems and related regulatory requirements.
• Ability to conduct research and work safely outdoors in varying weather conditions.
• Ability to drive safely, work extended hours, travel or transfer throughout the PG&E service territory, and wear company-provided personal protective equipment.

Nice to have

• 3–5 years of journey-level experience in commercial or industrial electrical construction.
• PG&E construction or utility experience.
• Electrical substation, power generation, or high-voltage experience.
• Experience with testing equipment and troubleshooting.
