Senior Production Technician - Mechanisms (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Execute complex aerospace mechanism builds for flight and high-rate production objectives.
• Perform repeatable assembly operations while meeting production rate, schedule, quality, and safety requirements.
• Transition mechanism build processes into standardized work instructions and production-ready processes.
• Develop and implement tooling, fixtures, workstations, and production infrastructure.
• Run functional tests of flight mechanisms and document results using controlled procedures.
• Improve cycle time, first-pass yield, line balance, throughput, equipment maintenance, and production-area organization.

Requirements

• 3+ years of professional experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Experience with torque and mechanical tools, gauges, and indicators.
• Ability to use computer systems for process transactions and quality management processes.
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications, complete travelers, and follow visual aids and controlled procedures.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk across uneven terrain, perform repetitive hand and arm motions, and lift up to 35 lbs.
• Access to export-controlled information may require compliance with U.S. Government eligibility, citizenship, authorization, or security-clearance requirements.

Nice to have

• 5+ years of aerospace manufacturing experience focused on electromechanical mechanisms or complex mechanical assemblies.
• Associate degree or A&P License.
• Experience with MES software, electronic production records, high-rate production, takt time, and throughput goals.
• Experience with production tooling, fixtures, standardized work, line balancing, AS9100 or equivalent quality systems, and 5S practices.
• Experience reading layout drawings, mechanical drawings, schematics, engineering drawings, parts lists, assembly procedures, and work instructions.
