What you will do

• Investigate cellular mechanisms of lysosomal dysfunction associated with Parkinson’s disease.
• Study how lysosomal Parkinson’s disease risk variants affect lysosomal function, lipid homeostasis, and alpha-synuclein clearance across CNS cell types.
• Design and implement cellular assays to evaluate lysosomal function and identify novel regulators using activity-based probes.
• Analyze experimental data, interpret results, and communicate findings clearly.
• Collaborate with human genetics, functional genomics, and academic research partners across a multi-institutional network.
• Attend conferences and publish research in peer-reviewed journals.

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, Neuroscience, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of related experience.
• Expertise in live-cell imaging and quantitative image analysis.
• Proficiency in mammalian cell culture and transfection, western blotting, immunofluorescence, and other biochemical and cellular techniques.
• Strong analytical, critical-thinking, organizational, oral, and written communication skills.
• Creative, responsible, and collaborative approach to research.

Nice to have

• Experience with membrane trafficking or lysosomal biology.
• Experience with iPSC-derived CNS models.
