Release Manager (SaaS)

Location: Remote, restricted to candidates with U.S. citizenship and full-time U.S. residency. Availability for off-hours release work is required.

What you will do

• Execute standard, limited-audience, and approved hotfix releases from branch cut through production, including rollback execution when needed.
• Own release readiness and technical and business go/no-go decisions, coordinating dependencies, migrations, deployment sequencing, and release manifests.
• Enforce Git branching, merge, squash, cherry-pick, tagging, versioning, and release-branch hygiene across repositories.
• Own the known state, availability, scheduling, data refresh, and configuration parity of Devtest, Acceptance, Beta, and Production environments.
• Manage the build-promotion and deployment pipeline, eliminate manual steps, and track release metrics, retrospectives, runbooks, and audit evidence.
• Communicate release schedules, cut dates, code-freeze windows, deployment status, and failures to Engineering, QA, Product, Sales, CS, and leadership.

Requirements

• U.S. citizenship and full-time U.S. residency are required.
• Reliable availability for most off-hours releases is required.
• Strong Git competency, including branching strategies, merges, squashes, cherry-picking, tagging, and release workflows.
• Technical fluency with CI/CD pipelines, containers and images, build artifacts, frontend and backend systems, deployment architecture, and MySQL migrations and indexes.
• Proven release management experience in a SaaS environment with multiple concurrent releases and cross-functional teams.
• Strong project management, process design, communication, documentation, and dependency-tracking skills; a degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to have

• Software engineering, engineering management, Agile/Scrum/Ops, or database experience.
• AWS familiarity and experience with regulated-industry controls such as HIPAA, SOC 2, or FedRAMP.
• Zero-downtime deployments, database migrations, feature flags, progressive delivery, scripting, automation, defect tracking, or configuration management experience.
