Senior Antenna Engineer

Location: Office-based in Boston, MA or Goleta, CA; five days per week in the office. Applicants must live within commuting distance. Travel up to 10%, including international travel to Asia.

Base salary: $152,000–$190,000 per year, depending on geographic location, qualifications, and experience.

What you will do

• Design and simulate multi-band antenna solutions throughout the product development cycle using CST and HFSS.
• Build and prototype antennas and characterize performance using 3D anechoic chambers, VNAs, and spectrum analyzers.
• Collaborate with hardware, mechanical, systems, software, acoustics, and wireless technology teams to meet product specifications.
• Direct JDM partners and contract manufacturers by defining deliverables and DOEs, reviewing designs and data, and leading root-cause analysis.
• Own antenna vendor selection, qualification, manufacturing test strategy, and yield reviews.
• Support EMI troubleshooting and regulatory certification, present technical findings, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years of antenna design experience, or a PhD in Electrical Engineering with a strong background in antenna theory and design.
• Proficiency with CST and HFSS, plus in-depth knowledge of antenna manufacturing technologies and materials.
• Strong RF, hardware board, system-level troubleshooting, antenna matching, and RF network matching skills.
• Experience using 3D anechoic chambers, vector network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers to characterize antenna and RF subsystems.
• Experience technically directing external design or manufacturing partners and reviewing deliverables with supporting data.
• Must be able to work in the office five days per week and be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with Wi-Fi 4 through Wi-Fi 7 standards and Bluetooth/BLE.
• Experience with RF subsystem trade-offs involving LNAs and power amplifiers.
• Knowledge of antenna cost and performance trade-offs and RF-optimized PCB layout.
• Familiarity with FCC, IC, ETSI, SRRC, and MIC regulatory standards.
