Senior Backend Engineer, Data (AI)

Salary: $200,000–$240,000 USD per year

What you will do

• Design and build high-performance data pipelines covering the full lifecycle of financial data.
• Create foundational frameworks and platforms that make AI a core company capability.
• Promote and demonstrate effective AI-assisted development across the software development lifecycle.
• Ensure data integrity and quality across multiple sources.
• Optimize query performance and troubleshoot data issues.

Requirements

• 4+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Java and experience with database systems, data warehouses, ETL pipelines, and mature data processes at scale.
• Experience with offline data processing and batch pipelines, such as Spark or similar frameworks.
• Working knowledge of AWS and Kubernetes.
• Experience using AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
• A B.A. or B.S. in Computer Science, or equivalent experience, along with strong communication, ownership, resilience, and creative problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake or another data warehouse.
• Experience with Airflow or another data orchestration tool.
• Experience with dbt or another data transformation and modeling tool.
