Appian Forward Deployed Product Owner (Appian)

Salary: $148,300–$247,100 annual USD; the applicable range may vary by location.

M&T Bank’s Wilmington Trust Institutional Services division is undertaking a digital transformation to develop digital-first trust and agency products, improve client-centric operations, and reduce the cost to serve.

What you will do

• Design, configure, and improve end-to-end business process workflows using Appian Designer.
• Partner with business, operations, technology, risk, and product stakeholders to map processes, define needs, and prioritize improvements.
• Own backlog items, including user stories, acceptance criteria, specifications, process flows, UI concepts, test scenarios, and release requirements.
• Lead working sessions, develop MVP designs, resolve issues, and drive alignment across business and technology teams.
• Use AI-assisted and agentic AI tools for discovery, analysis, documentation, prototyping, testing, and workflow improvement.
• Support QA, UAT, regression testing, production validation, reporting, dashboards, and KPI definition.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree and at least 10 years of relevant business, analytical, technical, digital product, transformation, or product ownership experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Hands-on experience building, configuring, testing, or supporting Appian workflows, forms, interfaces, records, process models, reports, or dashboards.
• Experience in financial services or fintech and exposure to regulated processes, operational risk, banking, wealth management, trust services, payments, capital markets, lending, or compliance.
• Experience as a product owner, product analyst, business analyst, transformation lead, or workflow designer in an agile or iterative environment.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, facilitation, and stakeholder alignment skills.
• Experience with QA, UAT, regression testing, defect triage, production validation, and responsible use of AI-assisted tools.

Nice to have

• Appian Level 1 or higher certification or equivalent Appian Designer experience.
• Familiarity with SAIL expressions, Appian AI, Case Management Studio, RPA, data fabric, integrations, and document management workflows.
• Experience with other low-code or no-code platforms such as Power Platform, ServiceNow, Salesforce, Pega, Airtable, Retool, or Mendix.
• Knowledge of Agile, Lean, design thinking, systems thinking, process engineering, and continuous improvement.
