TL;DR
VMware Infrastructure Engineer (VMware/vSphere/NSX): Designing and operating enterprise VMware virtualization, software-defined networking, storage, and hybrid cloud platforms with an accent on automation, capacity management, and resilient infrastructure operations. Focus on building Tanzu environments, automating provisioning with PowerCLI and Terraform, managing disaster recovery, and troubleshooting complex compute, network, and storage issues.
Location: 100% remote within the Continental United States
Salary: $100K–$150K annually

What you will do
- Design and operate VMware vSphere, vSAN, NSX, VMware Cloud Foundation, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Build and maintain Tanzu Kubernetes Grid platforms for containerized workloads.
- Implement Aria Automation, self-service provisioning, lifecycle management, policy enforcement, and infrastructure observability.
- Automate VMware infrastructure using PowerCLI, Terraform, Ansible, and vRO.
- Manage capacity, storage performance, disaster recovery, business continuity, upgrades, and security patching.
- Troubleshoot complex issues across compute, networking, and storage layers while supporting VMware cloud integrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
- Five or more years of hands-on VMware platform engineering experience.
- Deep expertise in vSphere, vCenter, ESXi, vSAN, storage policies, and NSX-T or NSX-V.
- Strong PowerCLI scripting, automation, disaster recovery, SRM, and cross-layer troubleshooting skills.
- Experience or familiarity with Tanzu Kubernetes Grid or VMware container platforms.
- Must work as a full-time W2 employee in the Continental United States.
Nice to have
- VCP or VCAP certification.
- Experience with VMware Cloud on AWS, AVS, GCVE, VMware Cloud Foundation, or Aria Operations.
- Experience migrating from VMware to alternative virtualization platforms.
