Staff Business Talent Analytics Data Analyst (Applied AI)

Location: San Diego, California; Frisco, Texas; Mountain View, California; or New York, New York

Base pay: San Diego $151,000–$204,000; Mountain View, CA $169,500–$229,000; New York $159,500–$215,500 per year. The position may also include a cash bonus, equity rewards, and benefits.

What you will do

• Design, build, and iterate AI and LLM-powered proof-of-concepts for talent analytics, workforce planning, talent acquisition, and related people-data use cases.
• Define agent decision boundaries, governed data usage, confidence tiers, provenance, and dashboard or conversational analytics patterns.
• Partner with enterprise AI and technology teams on shared standards, tooling, roadmaps, and the HR contextual and semantic layer.
• Integrate validated AI capabilities into analytics product roadmaps and define documented handoffs from prototypes to production with data engineering and product teams.
• Evaluate technical feasibility, risk, and build-or-no-build decisions, then communicate recommendations to senior stakeholders.
• Establish reusable AI delivery practices and coach senior analysts and partner teams on AI-assisted projects and agents.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in AI, data analytics, computer science, business, human resources, industrial/organizational psychology, or a related field.
• 7+ years of experience in business or data analytics or applied AI/ML roles, with hands-on ownership of building and shipping solutions.
• Direct experience building and deploying AI agents or LLM-powered tools and prototypes using Claude, GPT, or similar tools.
• Working knowledge of data warehouses, data pipelines, data architecture, and AI or analytics readiness at scale.
• Experience with dashboard and BI design, self-serve or conversational analytics, data-source certification, AI output governance, estimation, and scoping.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to operate autonomously in ambiguous problem spaces and translate technical experimentation into executive decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience with Workday HCM data and Avature or other recruiting platforms.
• Experience partnering with enterprise AI transformation, platform, or ML engineering teams on shared standards or infrastructure.
• Familiarity with talent analytics, workforce planning, and people-data governance, security, and access considerations.
