Senior Software Engineer - Cloud Automation (AWS)

Location: Fort Worth, Texas, or Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. The role includes a business-hours on-call rotation, with each rotation lasting one week.

What you will do

• Define and maintain an AWS account vending machine with organizational control policies.
• Design and operate shared cloud networks, including Direct Connect, Site-to-Site VPN, and network segmentation.
• Own cloud security posture through SIEM integrations, IAM, compliance tooling, and security services.
• Deploy and operate shared infrastructure, including EKS and ECS clusters and hosted application platforms.
• Maintain CI/CD infrastructure, build tooling, package repositories, and artifact distribution.
• Collaborate with perception, planning, control, mapping, and vehicle-testing teams on AWS development workflows, technical decisions, and operational standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field with 6+ years of experience, or a Master’s degree with 3+ years of experience.
• Deep hands-on experience with AWS Organizations, IAM, networking, EKS/ECS, and cloud security services.
• Strong infrastructure-as-code experience with Terraform, including module design and state management at scale.
• Experience with identity and access management, least-privilege design, compliance tooling, and security posture management.
• Familiarity with CI/CD systems and infrastructure supporting build, test, and artifact workflows.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS Control Tower, Account Factory for Terraform, or similar account vending patterns.
• Experience operating infrastructure for machine learning or robotics workloads.
• Strong organizational, time-management, communication, and collaborative skills.
