  • Experience developing for Linux, Android, and/or QNX and delivering software to production ECUs or other resource-constrained devices.
  • Knowledge of distributed systems, configuration management, data pipelines, API design and versioning, SDKs or libraries, and production troubleshooting.
  • Understanding of automotive cybersecurity, data protection, network security protocols, mTLS, certificate-based device identity, unit and integration testing, and CI/CD.
  • Must work in a hybrid arrangement with at least three office days per week in Markham or Oshawa, Ontario. GM does not provide immigration-related sponsorship for this role.

Nice to have

  • Vehicle communication protocols including UDS, CAN, SOME/IP, or XCP, and familiarity with AUTOSAR.
  • OpenTelemetry, protobuf, gRPC, Fluent Bit, or other observability and data-plane technologies.
  • AWS, GCP, Azure, IoT device-management services, and Firestore experience.
  • Automotive knowledge covering ECU architectures, SoC platforms, diagnostics, failure analysis, and crash analysis.

Culture & Benefits

  • Paid time off, vacation days, holidays, and supplemental pregnancy, parental, and adoption leave.
  • Healthcare, dental, vision, and life insurance benefits.
  • Defined Contribution Pension plan with company matching contributions.
  • GM Vehicle Purchase Plan for employees and their families.
  • Inclusive workplace focused on belonging, equity, and meaningful change.
