Embedded Software Engineer (Vue)

Location: Hybrid in Brampton, Ontario, Canada

Salary: CA$110,000–CA$130,000 per year

What you will do

• Develop software for embedded Linux-based microcomputer devices.
• Build embedded GUI interfaces and industrial touch-panel applications for Socomec products.
• Implement industrial communication protocols including Modbus TCP/RTU, BACnet/IP, and SNMP.
• Manage embedded software activities across the full product life cycle, from project inception through delivery.
• Prepare operational documentation, manuals, and online help.
• Support product testing, production, and service personnel at device and system levels.

Requirements

• Degree in electrical/electronic engineering with a proven software development background, or a firmware/software engineering degree with knowledge of industrial monitoring and control systems.
• 7+ years of software development experience for real-time industrial automation systems.
• Programming experience with C, C++, Java, and Python.
• Embedded Linux development experience using Yocto Project.
• Strong knowledge of Modbus TCP/RTU; familiarity with EtherNet/IP, BACnet/IP, or SNMP is beneficial.
• Experience with HTML5 and JavaScript; Vue.js and Qt experience are beneficial.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of electrical power quality monitoring and standards including IEEE 1159, IEEE 1459, and IEC 61000-4-30.
• Knowledge of NIST SP 800-82, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, and IEC 62443.
